    Packaging

Packaging protects the shipment all the way — during loading, reloading at the terminal and delivery.

    • The packaging is suitable for transport: boxes do not collapse, and goods on a pallet are secured with film
    • Where necessary, the packaging has warning signs (fragile, this side up)
    • The packaging clearly shows the name, address and contact telephone number of the sender and the recipient
    • APT is not liable for damage if the shipment was packed in a manner unsuitable for transport or a required warning sign was missing

    Prohibited goods

We do not accept these shipments. APT has the right to inspect the contents of a shipment in the presence of the sender.

    • Explosive substances
    • Toxic substances
    • Radioactive substances
    • Money
    • Valuables
    • Tobacco products

    Documents and handover

    • Consignment note

When a shipment is sent, consignment notes are completed with the details of the shipment, the sender and the recipient and, where necessary (CMR), the carrier. Keep your copy until the shipment has been handed over.

    • Handover

The shipment is released to the recipient against signature on presentation of a photo ID; a shipment addressed to a company is released on presentation of a power of attorney.

    • Damaged packaging

If a shipment arrives with damaged packaging, a report describing the nature of the damage is drawn up in the presence of the recipient.

Liability under the CMR Convention. For an uninsured shipment, APT reimburses the shipping costs and pays compensation up to the value of the lost shipment, but not more than 50 EUR.

    Frequently asked questions

    Terms of service
How large can a parcel be?

A parcel is a shipment weighing up to 25 kg. Heavier shipments are sent on a pallet: a standard pallet is 0.8 × 1.2 × 1.5 m and up to 500 kg.

How is the weight of bulky shipments calculated?

When calculating the shipping costs of bulky shipments, 1 m³ is counted as 250 kg. The chargeable weight is the greater of the two: the actual weight or the volumetric weight.

    Who loads a heavy shipment?

If the total weight of the shipment exceeds 35 kg, the loading is done by the sender / recipient, or they pay for it according to the price list. Waiting time of more than 15 minutes during loading is charged.

    Can a shipment be opened?

APT has the right to inspect the contents of a shipment in the presence of the sender.

    Is the shipment insured?

Delays and losses are handled in accordance with the CMR Convention. For an uninsured shipment, APT reimburses the shipping costs and pays compensation up to the value of the lost shipment, but not more than 50 EUR.

How does the recipient collect the shipment?

Against signature on presentation of a photo ID. A shipment addressed to a company is released on the basis of a power of attorney.
